Saints

-

Last night All Hallow’s Eve ushered in two very holy days: All Saints and All Soul’s. Today, is All saints and here is a scripture verse for us: “But the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever.” Daniel 7:19. A saint is anyone who is in God’s grace, has died and now is in heaven. They are in union with Christ. This is a goal for all of us. I find it helpful to have some saints to be a role model for me. On all Saints Day, reflect on the areas of your life and perhaps things that are leading you in the wrong direction. Lord, bless the saints that have gone before us. Grant us discernment on what we need to do to be in perfect union with you on the path…

Be Ready

-
If you are a gardener, you know you need to prepare. I have already looked over my gardens. Pruned my fruit trees and turned over dirt. Nutrients have gone into the earth, and I have made a list of the next steps. Preparation.  There are a lot of things we need to prepare for; that is, to be ready. They provide wisdom when I ask. The other day, I said to a fellow teacher, I am having a teaching moment. I need advice.  Another teacher, whom I find wise, had walked in, and we discussed my “teacher moment.” They were able to provide wisdom, so when I went home, I was de-stressed. Thank you. My point today is surrounding yourself with wise companions; heck, I even married one. Wisdom is something to strive for, and especially finding it in companionship on the path…

Patience and Hope

-
“But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:25 Since the break, the people in my house have been sick. The flu has struck and is still with us. We are waiting patiently for health to return. The advantage of being ill is that you really slow down and rest. Patience and hope. Two words that fill our lives. There were things I wanted to do during my two weeks off. Instead, I must reboot. Luckily, I have the time to do so. Hope and Patience. Living our lives with hope-for what we do not yet have, and waiting patiently can bring a sense of calm on the path…
