“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3-5 Thursday, Friday and home today we went to a state park with our “littles.” Their aunt and uncles came out to help them enjoy the outdoors. Families come in all sorts of packages. I am so blessed and thankful for mine. It is a joy to pass on the love of the outdoors. It is a wonder to have the different generations come together. Gus found deer tracks and was so excited. Note to self, travel with plaster of Paris so he can make molds. Seeing nature through their eyes helps one to stay young. Today, thank the Lord for your family. Find the good, not faults in all of them…Love starts with the Lord, fills a home so it can be spread to generations and on the path….

Walk with the Wise

 As I journey through this life, I am reminded to pick my companionship carefully. “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” Proverbs 13:20 Jobs come and go. Events come and go, but true companionship sticks with you through “thick and thin.” At work, I have people I hope I can stay in contact with after I retire. I enjoy their company. They provide wisdom when I ask. The other day, I said to a fellow teacher, I am having a teaching moment. I need advice.  Another teacher, whom I find wise, had walked in, and we discussed my “teacher moment.” They were able to provide wisdom, so when I went home, I was de-stressed. Thank you. My point today is surrounding yourself with wise companions; heck, I even married one. Wisdom is something to strive for, and especially finding it in companionship on the path…

Patience and Hope

 “But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:25 Since the break, the people in my house have been sick. The flu has struck and is still with us. We are waiting patiently for health to return. The advantage of being ill is that you really slow down and rest. Patience and hope. Two words that fill our lives. There were things I wanted to do during my two weeks off. Instead, I must reboot. Luckily, I have the time to do so. Hope and Patience. Living our lives with hope-for what we do not yet have, and waiting patiently can bring a sense of calm on the path…
