Trust

Psalm 40:4 “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the outs, to those who turn aside to false gods.” I had a moment of realization yesterday. I might be retiring from my current job, but I have always felt I work for God, and to that I will never retire, just change where I work. For this, I need to trust. In today’s climate and political static energy, I do believe trust is something that is hard to come by. Yet, we must trust. Without trust, there is no hope. Without trust love is not a strong link in the chain. Without trust relationships are broken. Trust. I believe that we must go, on bended knee if need be and start with trusting the Lord. Ask for trust, be filled with trust and ask for God’s wisdom to know who, what, when and where to trust. Do a quick sift today, asking yourself if there are any false God’s to whom you have put your trust in. Then turn to the Lord, and ask for a heart worthy of his trust on the path…

Trust

  “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”  – Isaiah 43:2 A Lenten challenge to myself has been to study the book of Isaiah. The theme is for a person to trust in God, not in leaders, wealth, or themselves. So many of the verses speak to the world today. The book of Isaiah has many verses warning those who trust in their power, their wealth, or leaders who oppress. As I listen for the whisper, I am reminded to turn towards God. When I wrote my dissertation, I used the verse Isaiah 43:2. This verse reminds a person of the power of God. Trust. Trust in God. Difficulties come and go. The whisper is simply: trust in God. So, on this Sunday morning, I pray that I let go of my human instinct to control and instead pray when I feel the need to control my situation; when I think I know better than God. I trust ...

Be Ready

 If you are a gardener, you know you need to prepare. I have already looked over my gardens. Pruned my fruit trees and turned over dirt. Nutrients have gone into the earth, and I have made a list of the next steps. Preparation.  There are a lot of things we need to prepare for; that is, to be ready. Sunday is Psalm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. Luke 12:35 states, “Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit.” Even if you did nothing for Lent, this week I challenge you to reflect on your relationship with Christ.
