Progress
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19
Progress. What is Lent for? A time to slow down, rekindle
the flames of love for Christ, perhaps? Is it time to fast from a vice to feast
on a virtue? My one goal has been to hear God’s whisper amongst the business of
life. The path can at times seem like a wilderness or wasteland. Sometimes our
good intentions get lost, and we feel as if this has been one more Lent, we
didn’t make it through. The good news is that we can restart any time. Yet we
need to remember that it isn’t so much what we can do for God, but what God
does for us. All God asks is that we show up…we converse…we try, struggle, wrestle,
but mostly be humble, grateful, and live out his love letter…scripture. Today,
remember that progress is found in Isaiah 43:19: God is making a way in
the wilderness and wastelands on the path…
