I do believe that Lent is about returning to balance…peace. There is something in the moments of sunrise and sunset that give pause. Pause. Today press pause on you life. A moment to catch your breath, to reset, to recalculate what is important and who is walking with you. What do you feed you mind? Your body? Your soul? Press pause. Find peace, His peace before you press play again on the path…

I went yesterday and was treated for bronchitis and a sinus infection.   I have been praying that all of you are well and begin 2026 with hope. What will your task be in 2026?

“ and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,” Luke 8:2 Mary Magdalene was sent by Jesus to tell the followers he had risen. Yet I think that one of the important reasons that Mary could be given this task was that she modeled the power of Christ through his cure of her seven demons. The seven demons were overcome through Jesus. These are the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, wrath, lust, envy, gluttony, and sloth. The deadly sins are replaced with the seven heavenly virtues: prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, and charity. As we come to New Year's and think about how we want to change the path we are on, let's make 2026 a great year. Think about replacing one of the demons that might plague you. Christ is there to help each of us with something we need to work on and replace. Who knows the tasks we will be given when we are cured?  Pray on it, reflect, then ask Christ to cure ...
