Tapestry Threads

 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John1:1 KJV

The Gospel of John starts with pulling the thread of the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures) into the New Testament by showing that Christ was a woven piece all along. Where to begin? Begin at the beginning. What threads are you weaving through in 2026, and what threads are you tying off? Me? Faith is a thread I always continue to weave in my tapestry. Family is a thread that I’d like to add more threads to this year. Visit more, spend time with, and be there for. Exploring places around me and making memories is always a great thread to pull through. I also think of some new threads I’d like to tie on and add… God’s beginning started by communicating with us, walking with us, and then having God’s love letter written for us to remind us that God’s thread should be part of our tapestry on the path…

I went yesterday and was treated for bronchitis and a sinus infection.   I have been praying that all of you are well and begin 2026 with hope. Hope, faith, and love, these three will overcome anything, and when well planted will bless you forever on the path…

What will your task be in 2026?

“ and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,” Luke 8:2 Mary Magdalene was sent by Jesus to tell the followers he had risen. Yet I think that one of the important reasons that Mary could be given this task was that she modeled the power of Christ through his cure of her seven demons. The seven demons were overcome through Jesus. These are the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, wrath, lust, envy, gluttony, and sloth. The deadly sins are replaced with the seven heavenly virtues: prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, and charity. As we come to New Year's and think about how we want to change the path we are on, let's make 2026 a great year. Think about replacing one of the demons that might plague you. Christ is there to help each of us with something we need to work on and replace. Who knows the tasks we will be given when we are cured?  Pray on it, reflect, then ask Christ to cure ...
