Defend your faith
Peter 3:15: “But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence."
How would you defend your faith? Apologetics is a way to defend ones faith. Not apologies for it, but to use reason, logic and systematically be able to articulate your faith. It comes from the heart, a faith no one can take away. It is a way to articulate God’s presence in your life and in the world. The creed starts with the word “believe.” Why? Because believe means to have faith even in things we can’t see or rationalize. I believe in God? How do I defend that? I believe there is something bigger than humanity and the properties of the universe. Why? Humanity can’t understand everything, nor control it. I believe in the Holy Spirit because there are times when I needed courage, that is when I had to go beyond my comfort zone or meet a particular difficult challenge. I am blessed with awe and wonder as I see nature and still get excited…I can go on, but the point today is to think about how you could defend your faith…for faith isn’t a crutch, no a euphoric feeling…it is a way of life pointing us home on the path…(know your faith and know your path…)
