The hope from the Holy Spirit

 Romans 5.5 “and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us.”

The Holy Spirit is essential to our faith. The Holy Spirit empowers and guides. The Holy Spirit, being a spirit, intertwines with our spirituality to ensure that our compass points towards God. The Holy Spirit was given to us so that hope flows in our prayers, in our relationship with God and others. Hope is the lens to see God in our lives and allows us to walk confidently on the path….

What will your task be in 2026?

“ and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,” Luke 8:2 Mary Magdalene was sent by Jesus to tell the followers he had risen. Yet I think that one of the important reasons that Mary could be given this task was that she modeled the power of Christ through his cure of her seven demons. The seven demons were overcome through Jesus. These are the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, wrath, lust, envy, gluttony, and sloth. The deadly sins are replaced with the seven heavenly virtues: prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, and charity. As we come to New Year's and think about how we want to change the path we are on, let's make 2026 a great year. Think about replacing one of the demons that might plague you. Christ is there to help each of us with something we need to work on and replace. Who knows the tasks we will be given when we are cured?  Pray on it, reflect, then ask Christ to cure ...
