A Spiritual Gift

 “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” Romans 1:11-12

If I had a spiritual gift to give, it would be hope. For a person who can see hope, especially in the little things will have a joyful life. Gratitude is an attitude that brings hope. I try to find little things that bring joy and remind me of hope. This morning there was a red streak through the clouds as if a trail leading to me. It reminded me of the blood Jesus shed, and because of that blood I redeemed. Hope. I still stumble and fall, but like a little child, I can run to the Father for healing. Little things that lead to Him. Today find hope in your life, and remind yourself you can find it in the little things on the path…

What will your task be in 2026?

“ and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,” Luke 8:2 Mary Magdalene was sent by Jesus to tell the followers he had risen. Yet I think that one of the important reasons that Mary could be given this task was that she modeled the power of Christ through his cure of her seven demons. The seven demons were overcome through Jesus. These are the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, wrath, lust, envy, gluttony, and sloth. The deadly sins are replaced with the seven heavenly virtues: prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, and charity. As we come to New Year's and think about how we want to change the path we are on, let's make 2026 a great year. Think about replacing one of the demons that might plague you. Christ is there to help each of us with something we need to work on and replace. Who knows the tasks we will be given when we are cured?  Pray on it, reflect, then ask Christ to cure ...
