Fishing

Today I am sitting in my classroom, thinking about fishing. Teaching is a lot like fishing. To fish, you need the write bait, equipment and patience. The right bait requires you know the species of fish you are trying to catch. And, let’s face it, it’s called fishing, not catching. Many of those rules apply to teaching. I know I will catch some, and others will swim away or unhook for someone else to catch. Matthew 13:47 states, “Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.” I hope to catch all kinds of fish in the classroom. In my personal life I also hope I catch what is right, kind, positive and reflecting God on the path…
