Cliff sides

Cliffside. Yesterday we ventured out to Cliffside Park which is only about 15 minutes from the house. We have two great camping areas that are close, which makes little get always nice. Today’s scripture verse reminds me how important it is to find moments of Christ’s peace in our busy lives. For me camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking….well just being in nature is my sacred space of rejuvenation. Cliff sides can be a remote places to get away and recharge yourself. I believe we all need to break the hectic cycles we find ourselves in and find cliff sides. They can be taking pizza to go and going to a beach, or camping just for a couple of days even if it isn’t far away. Have some fun and make a list of “cliff sides” you can go to when the mundane cycle of life is getting to you on the path…

I went yesterday and was treated for bronchitis and a sinus infection.   I have been praying that all of you are well and begin 2026 with hope. What will your task be in 2026?

“ and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,” Luke 8:2 Mary Magdalene was sent by Jesus to tell the followers he had risen. Yet I think that one of the important reasons that Mary could be given this task was that she modeled the power of Christ through his cure of her seven demons. The seven demons were overcome through Jesus. These are the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, wrath, lust, envy, gluttony, and sloth. The deadly sins are replaced with the seven heavenly virtues: prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, and charity. As we come to New Year's and think about how we want to change the path we are on, let's make 2026 a great year. Think about replacing one of the demons that might plague you. Christ is there to help each of us with something we need to work on and replace. Who knows the tasks we will be given when we are cured?  Pray on it, reflect, then ask Christ to cure ...
