The Rythm

 This is my command: Love each other. John 15:17

The rhythm. School years have a certain rhythm. We are in finals and on Friday graduation and summer break. I like the rhythm of life and I like the rhythm of a school year. I have learned that a key to success and enjoyment in this rhythm is to love one another. I, at times might not like a person or their actions, but I try to remember to love them. Not the love of feelings but the love of sacredness. Each of are created in Gods likeness and image therefore each of us, through his breath of life is sacred. I am not perfect, but I try to be compassionate, kind, joyful and grateful. I also try to ask for forgiveness when I have fallen short. I humble myself to know the rhythm of life is not all about me. Today remind yourself of your rhythm and ask if you need to change the rhythm or if you are all good on the path…

Fruit of the Spirit, worth picking.

  “ In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 Fruit of the Spirit is worth picking.  As I go about each day, I try to be a fruit of the Spirit. Yesterday, we were finally able to do two things I love to do: canoe and fish. I was also able to finish my prayer area. Wood chips are down, and I planted the final climbing rose! Eventually, my canopy will be complete. Currently, it has wisteria, honeysuckles, and roses. The new climbing rose will fill in the west end of the canopy. I have a table I am covering, so I will have a table with two chairs to pray and study. The table and chair set I found while antiquing. The set came from an ice cream shop. New Things

  “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” ( Isaiah 43:18-19)   New Things. It is not easy to move forward. It is not easy to make your way through the wilderness and streams to the wasteland. The wasteland, to me, is the unknown. Yet to grow, to be fully alive, we must venture into wastelands. Sometimes we are thrust into it: a child comes along, when aging parents face their decline; job changes, or retirement can all be the time when we find ourselves in the wasteland. Forgetting former times isn’t about forgetting memories, but more about what we thought it would be like when we reach the wasteland. The ideas, ways things should be.
