Joel
2:21 says, “Do not fear, O land! delight and rejoice, for the LORD has
done great things!”
Grateful. Sunday is a great time to sit back with a cup of coffee or tea and create a thankful list. Life has a way of throwing curveballs. You're ready to do something, and you strike out. Perhaps you have been waiting in the dugout, wondering when your time at bat will be. Yes, I’m using baseball analogies. Baseball marks the hope of summer. Summer is something to be thankful for. In trying times, I find it is important to create a focus on gratitude. Today’s reading reminds me not to fear and to remember all the great things God has done for me. As I watch the finches become a brighter yellow, drive to work in light, not darkness, I begin my thankful list. Yesterday, as my husband and I took a drive, I don’t know how many deer we saw. It was a wonder and joy. Winter wheat is up and green. The rain has given plants a boost. Spring is all around, and thoughts of long summer days fill my mind. Today, thank the Lord for one good thing in your life. When our feet are placed in gratitude, and we walk in the way of delight and rejoicing, when twists and turns happen, we begin to see the positive in them also, on the path….
